This was the old Alki Market with parking under half of the building. Part of the plumbing system was trenched and the foundation wall was cut to allow the balance of the system to extend into the garage. This project incorporated the use of heavy steel finishes and well as stained concrete. We cast in-place an outdoor table top gas fireplace for the patio. Many of the interior walls have back lit desert style relief openings in them with custom painted murals. Many of the doors open to the beach walk making for a casual indoor / out dining experience.
O / 8 Seafood and Twisted Cork Wine BarBellevue
This particular space was a combination of existing restaurant and hotel lobby. The existing kitchen was scheduled to remain as is. The single biggest challenge was to perform extensive demolition in an operating four star hotel with executive meeting rooms directly above the construction site. We had bi-weekly schedule updates to best avoid noise disruption in the rooms above. This meant the schedule was constantly in flux.

This project had unique interior finishes such as Pine paneling and Graffiti paint wall finishes, exposed, painted roof structure, and an acid etched concrete floor with fish designs stained into it. One of the difficulties of this project was the owner requested that we start before the landlord had completed the shell. We were required to work along side the shell contractor while it was completed. Communication was instrumental to prevent the sub-trades from getting in each other’s way.

The existing structure needed a minor upgrade, after that it was all tenant improvements. This required that one of the first elements of construction was to construct an engineered sound wall. The interior finishes included a new terrazzo floor system with inlayed white stars within the black field. Other interesting finishes included a black granite bathroom floor and blue glazed ceiling paint, floating stainless steel bathroom vanities. The kitchen included extensive electrical, plumbing and mechanical.

Pyramid BreweriesA complete restroom renovation including all new wall and floor tile, toilet partitions, new counters, and automated valves for all the plumbing fixtures. One of the challenges of this project was all the work had to occur during off hours and the restroom could only be “out of order” for two days. The success of this project has allowed D&A to remain Pyramid’s contractor for over four years with over 20 projects completed.
